KTR Hails BRS Performance in GP Polls
BRS working president K T Rama Rao (KTR) has praised the performance of BRS-backed candidates in the first phase of Telangana gram panchayat (GP) elections, saying the results reflect growing public discontent with the ruling Congress party and its governance in rural areas. KTR congratulated BRS-supported sarpanch and ward member winners, describing their victories as significant given the tough political environment and criticisms of the state government’s performance. He argued that the outcomes signal a rejection of the ruling party and a resurgence of support for BRS at the grassroots level.
In Suryapet district, former minister G Jagadish Reddy’s father, 95-year-old Guntakandla Ramachandra Reddy, was elected sarpanch of Nagaram village, drawing attention for his age and local popularity. His election was widely celebrated in the community as a historic moment.
