A fresh incident from Lakhisarai has raised serious concerns about how alcohol is still easily available despite strict laws. The excise department and police arrested five orchestra dancers who were found intoxicated during a late-night raid.
According to officials, the women had come from West Bengal to perform at an orchestra programme. The organiser alerted police after some people tried to misbehave with them. Acting quickly, police raided the spot and detained eight people.
Medical tests later confirmed alcohol consumption. Legal action was taken under the Excise Act, and all five women were arrested. The operation was led by Kawaiya Police Station in-charge Amit Kumar, with raids conducted in Punjabi Mohalla and Pachna Road areas.
This Bihar liquor prohibition violation has triggered public anger. Residents are questioning how alcohol reached the performers in a dry state. Many believe an organised liquor network may be active in the district.
