Sagarmala projects in Andhra Pradesh to Boost Port and Logistics Growth
Sagarmala projects in Andhra Pradesh are set to transform the State’s coastal economy, with 110 projects worth nearly ₹1 lakh crore identified under the national Sagarmala programme, Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways said on Saturday.
Speaking at an event in Nellore, the Minister said these projects aim to strengthen ports, improve road and rail links, and promote port-led industrial development across Andhra Pradesh. The focus remains on reducing logistics costs and creating large-scale employment.

The Minister highlighted the launch of the National Logistics Portal–Marine, a digital platform designed to bring all maritime and logistics stakeholders onto a single system. The portal will simplify services, improve transparency, and reduce delays in cargo movement.

He said the Centre is working closely with the State government to fast-track approvals and execution. Several projects are already at different stages of implementation, including port modernization, coastal infrastructure, and fisheries development.

Officials noted that Andhra Pradesh, with its long coastline, is well positioned to benefit from Sagarmala initiatives. The projects are expected to boost exports, attract private investment, and support local industries.

The Minister added that port-led growth will play a key role in India’s broader economic development strategy.
