A serious road accident in Krishna district surfaced late on Tuesday. The incident occurred at Neppalli Centre in Kankipadu mandal. According to police, the crash took place around 11.30 am. Two persons were travelling on a two-wheeler and tried to cross the road near the junction.
At the same time, a car approached from the opposite direction. The car hit the two-wheeler at high speed. Due to the impact, the bike lost balance and moved forward. The pillion rider was thrown aside and fell near the roadside. The rider was also flung forward and landed on the road.
During the same sequence, the uncontrolled bike hit another person standing by the roadside. As a result, three persons sustained serious injuries. The front portion of the car was damaged in the collision. Local residents reacted immediately and began rescue efforts. An ambulance was informed without delay.
The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. Police reached the spot after receiving information. CCTV footage of the accident was examined. A case has been registered and an investigation is underway. Repeated accidents in Neppalli have raised safety concerns among villagers.
