Jagan Seeks CBI Probe into Joji Nagar Demolition, Alleges Political Targeting

YSR Congress Party president Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday demanded a CBI probe into the demolition of Joji Nagar colony, alleging a politically motivated operation targeting residents. He claimed that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, HRD Minister Nara Lokesh, local MP Kesineni Sivanadh, and a Jana Sena corporator were behind the action.
According to Mr. Jagan, 42 families residing in the colony, spread over 2.17 acres and valued at approximately ₹150 crore, were forcibly displaced, losing their homes and livelihoods. He termed the demolition as an abuse of power aimed at disadvantaging ordinary citizens and alleged that proper legal procedures were ignored.

Jagan urged immediate intervention from central investigative agencies to ensure justice for the affected families. He also called on authorities to provide adequate rehabilitation and compensation for the displaced residents. The opposition leader accused the State government of prioritising political interests over public welfare, demanding accountability and transparency in handling land and housing issues.
