Mohali Fog Crash Injures Schoolchildren After Bus Collision

A road accident involving two school buses injured several children in Mohali on Thursday morning. Dense fog reduced visibility on the Kharar–Kurali highway, leading to the collision near Jamuna Apartments on the service road.

One bus belonged to Delhi Public School, while the other was operated by St Ezra School, Kharar. According to preliminary information, the DPS bus was travelling from Kurali towards Mohali. The St Ezra bus was moving in the opposite direction and reportedly entered the wrong lane.

The buses collided head-on in heavy fog conditions. The driver of the Delhi Public School bus suffered serious injuries in the crash. Several schoolchildren sustained injuries, though none were reported to be critical.

Rescue teams and local police reached the spot soon after the accident. Ambulances shifted the injured children and the driver to a nearby private hospital for treatment. Doctors said the injured students were stable and under observation.

Traffic on the service road remained disrupted for some time as authorities cleared the vehicles. Police have started an investigation to determine responsibility and assess whether fog protocols were followed.

Officials urged drivers to exercise extreme caution during foggy conditions. They also advised schools and transport operators to follow strict safety guidelines during winter mornings.
