A tragic road accident on Rajasthan’s NH-52 claimed four lives after a gravel-laden dumper overturned onto a moving car in Bundi district. The incident occurred on the Silor overbridge under Sadar police station limits.

According to police, the dumper lost control after a tyre burst. The vehicle first rammed into a crane, jumped the divider, and overturned onto a Hyundai Creta coming from the opposite direction. The impact crushed the car under heavy gravel.

ASP Uma Sharma said five people were travelling in the car. Four died on the spot, while one survivor remains under medical treatment. All victims belonged to the same family from Tonk district.

The deceased were four brothers travelling to Kota to attend their cousin’s birthday celebration. What began as a family outing ended in tragedy within moments. Rescue teams used two cranes and a JCB to remove the dumper. The operation took nearly an hour.

Police shifted the bodies to Bundi District Hospital, where doctors declared them dead. Officials later informed the family members.

The accident caused panic and traffic congestion on the highway. A large crowd gathered at the site, prompting swift police action. Authorities have seized the dumper and started an investigation. Traffic movement has now resumed, while officials continue to probe the cause of the tyre burst.
