Congress Dominates Sarpanch Polls in Vikarabad: Rammohan Reddy
The Congress party has dominated the recently held Sarpanch elections in Vikarabad district, according to senior party leader Rammohan Reddy. Speaking to the media on Friday, he said the party’s strong performance reflected growing public support at the grassroots level and trust in Congress leadership.
Mr. Reddy stated that Congress-backed candidates won a majority of the Sarpanch posts across the district, defeating rivals by comfortable margins. He attributed the success to effective local leadership, sustained outreach programmes, and the party’s focus on issues affecting rural communities, including agriculture, employment, and welfare schemes.
He said the results demonstrated people’s dissatisfaction with the ruling party’s policies and their preference for Congress’s governance model. The leader congratulated the newly elected Sarpanches and urged them to work for inclusive development in their respective villages.
Mr. Reddy added that the party would continue to strengthen its organisational base in rural areas and prepare for future elections by addressing public concerns and fulfilling poll promises.
