Komatireddy Inaugurates Short Film Festival, Assures Continued Support to Film Industry
A short film festival was inaugurated in Hyderabad on Friday, marking a platform for young filmmakers to showcase creativity and talent. Speaking at the inaugural event, Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy reaffirmed the State government’s commitment to supporting the film industry, particularly emerging artists and independent filmmakers.
The Minister said cinema played a crucial role in reflecting social issues and promoting cultural expression. He assured that the government would continue to encourage the film sector through policy support, infrastructure development and skill-based training initiatives. Emphasis, he said, would be placed on nurturing local talent and creating opportunities for youth.
Several filmmakers, actors and film enthusiasts attended the event, which features screenings of short films across multiple genres. Organisers said the festival aims to provide exposure, networking opportunities and recognition to aspiring filmmakers. Workshops and interactive sessions with industry experts have also been planned as part of the programme to guide participants on storytelling, technology and filmmaking techniques.
