Patna: The Bihar government has enforced a strict government land ban Bihar with immediate effect. The decision aims to stop the illegal buying and selling of government land. Officials say land mafia groups have misused loopholes for years. The government land ban Bihar is meant to protect public property and land meant for the poor.
The Chief Secretary has issued clear orders to all district officials. Collectors, SDOs, and Circle Officers must ensure that no government land is sold or transferred. Any violation will invite strong action.
Reports showed that land reserved for the homeless and surplus government plots was sold illegally. These deals often happened with the help of local officials. The government has now warned that such acts will not be tolerated.
New rules require approval from the state government for any future land-related decisions. Some cases may also need cabinet clearance. Pending files will be reviewed again at higher levels.
The state also plans to create district-level land banks. These will help track land records and improve transparency. Officials believe this step will weaken land mafia networks and restore public trust.
