India T20 World Cup squad for the 2026 tournament has been officially announced.
The competition will run from February 7 to March 8 in India and Sri Lanka.
Selectors picked a 15-member team under the leadership of Suryakumar Yadav.

The biggest surprise came with Shubman Gill missing out on selection.
Gill previously served as India’s T20 vice-captain.
The selection committee has now handed that role to all-rounder Axar Patel.

The same squad will feature in the upcoming five-match T20 series against New Zealand.
Selectors focused on balance, flexibility, and recent T20 performances.

Wicketkeeper-batter Jitesh Sharma also lost his place in the team.
Ishan Kishan returned as a backup wicketkeeper and opening option.
Middle-order finisher Rinku Singh earned a recall after missing recent series.

The squad includes experienced players and young talent.
Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dube strengthen the all-round department.
Jasprit Bumrah will lead the pace attack alongside Arshdeep Singh.
Varun Chakravarthy adds spin depth to the bowling unit.

Team management believes this combination offers strong batting depth and bowling variety.
The squad aims to deliver a title-winning performance in the global tournament.
