Tragedy strikes as newly-wed couple fall to death from moving train
A newly-married couple died after falling from a moving train in Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri district of Telangana on Friday, police said. The incident occurred when the couple was travelling from Hyderabad to their hometown shortly after their wedding, which had taken place a few days earlier.
According to preliminary information, the couple reportedly slipped and fell from the train under circumstances that are still being investigated. Railway police rushed to the spot after receiving information from local residents and train staff. The victims were found with severe injuries and were declared dead at the scene.
The bodies were shifted to a government hospital for post-mortem examination. Police have registered a case and are examining CCTV footage and passenger accounts to ascertain how the incident occurred. Officials said accidental fall appears to be the primary cause, though all angles are being probed.
The tragic incident has cast a pall of gloom over the families of the couple and their native village, where preparations were reportedly under way for post-wedding ceremonies.
