Patna: Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will take part in the ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ in Bihar’s Supaul district on August 26. Her visit coincides with Hartalika Teej, a festival celebrated by married women for the well-being of their husbands. She will be accompanied by Rahul Gandhi and other INDIA bloc leaders.

AICC General Secretary (Organisation) KC Venugopal said Priyanka will cover programmes in Supaul and Madhubani on August 26. The next day, she will offer prayers at the Maa Janaki temple in Sitamarhi. Party leaders believe her presence will boost the opposition’s campaign against what they describe as “vote theft.”

Rahul Gandhi has already been drawing attention with his motorcycle ride in Purnea district, where he was joined by RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav. During the ride, a youth breached security and kissed Rahul, leaving him surprised. He later stopped at a roadside dhaba near Jalalgarh to have tea with locals. Earlier in Katihar, he interacted with makhana farmers and promised a debt-free future for agricultural workers.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin and Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will also join the Yatra later this month, along with Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav.
