Ajmer Sharif Urs: Kiren Rijiju Prays for Peace and Progress

Union Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju offered a ceremonial chadar at Ajmer Sharif during the 814th annual Urs. The chadar was sent on behalf of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. After the offering, religious rituals took place amid prayers for peace and brotherhood.

Rijiju described the dargah of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti as a symbol of India’s shared cultural heritage. He said people believe wishes made at Ajmer Sharif find fulfillment for over 800 years. He added that he prayed for people of all religions and communities.

Speaking to reporters, the minister said he felt fortunate to visit the shrine for the second time. He shared that his prayers focused on India’s progress and global leadership. He expressed hope that the country would advance rapidly toward becoming a developed nation.

Rijiju highlighted that the shrine spreads messages of peace, harmony, and service worldwide. He said people from all backgrounds visit the dargah with respect and faith.

The minister noted that the Minority Affairs Ministry continues efforts to improve facilities at the shrine. He assured visitors that authorities aim to ensure smooth management and comfort for devotees throughout the Urs.
