Telangana Directs Government Offices to Vacate Private Buildings by December 31

The Telangana government has ordered the immediate shifting of all government offices functioning from private buildings, setting a deadline of December 31 for the move. Officials have been directed to identify and shift to available government-owned office spaces at the earliest.
In an official communication, the government stated that no rental payments will be made for offices housed in private buildings from February 1 onwards. Departments have been instructed to complete the relocation process within the stipulated time and ensure minimal disruption to public services.
The decision is aimed at reducing the financial burden on the state exchequer by cutting down on rental expenses. Authorities have also been asked to explore the use of vacant or underutilised government premises, including office complexes and public buildings.
Senior officials said coordination among departments is being prioritised to meet the deadline. The government has warned that any delay or non-compliance with the order will be viewed seriously.
The move is expected to result in significant savings for the state while improving the efficient use of government infrastructure.
