A Morning Threat, Evening Shooting incident has shaken Bihar after a school student was shot just hours after receiving a chilling phone threat.
The incident took place in Arrah city of Bhojpur district. In the morning, unidentified youths called the 16-year-old boy and warned him, saying they would kill him if they saw him outside.
Despite the threat, the student went to attend tuition classes in the evening. While returning home near Gayatri Chowk in Defence Colony, three youths stopped him on the road.
One of them pulled out a pistol and fired at him. The bullet hit the student below his left knee. He screamed for help as the attackers fled the spot.
Local residents rushed the injured boy to the Sadar Hospital. Doctors confirmed that he is out of danger and receiving treatment.
The victim studies in Class 10 and lives in the same locality. He told police that the attack followed an earlier dispute between two groups of youths.
Police have registered a case and started raids to arrest the accused. Officers said strict action will follow soon.
