Andhra Pradesh Govt. Allocates ₹50.50 Crore Christmas Gift for Pastors
The Andhra Pradesh government has released ₹50.50 crore as a special Christmas gift for pastors across the State. Each of the 8,418 pastors will receive an honorarium of ₹5,000 per month, covering the period from December 2024 to November 2025, officials said on Tuesday.
The scheme aims to support the religious and social contributions of pastors, many of whom are involved in community welfare and charitable activities. Government officials emphasised that the honorarium is intended to provide financial assistance to pastors, particularly those serving in rural and underserved areas.
The distribution process has been streamlined to ensure that all eligible pastors receive the funds promptly. Authorities have urged the beneficiaries to cooperate with local officials for smooth disbursal. The State government said that the initiative reflects its commitment to supporting religious leaders who play a vital role in fostering community harmony and social service, aligning with the festive spirit of Christmas.
