Construction of High Court Complex Begins in Amaravati

Construction of the High Court complex in Amaravati has officially begun, marking a significant milestone in the development of Andhra Pradesh’s capital city. The project, designed by internationally renowned architectural firm Norman Foster and Partners, will come up over a vast area of 21 lakh square feet. According to Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) Minister Narayana, the state-of-the-art complex will house 52 court halls along with supporting judicial and administrative infrastructure.
The High Court building is envisioned as a modern, sustainable, and iconic structure that reflects the aspirations of the people of Andhra Pradesh. The design emphasizes functionality, accessibility, and environmental sensitivity, aligning with Amaravati’s master plan as a green and people-centric capital. The government has set a target to complete the construction by the end of 2027. Once completed, the complex is expected to strengthen the judicial system, improve access to justice, and serve as a key institutional anchor in the planned capital city of Amaravati.
