Patna Schools Closed Till 30 December as Cold Wave Intensifies

Patna schools closed till 30 December due to cold wave

Patna schools closed till 30 December after the district administration extended the holiday for students up to Class 8 due to severe cold weather. Patna schools closed till 30 December following an order issued by the District Magistrate to protect young children from health risks caused by the cold wave.

The decision applies to all government and private schools in Patna district. Officials said the temperature remains very low, and dense fog continues during morning hours. These conditions make it unsafe for small children to travel to school.

Earlier, schools up to Class 8 were closed only for a few days. However, weather conditions did not improve, forcing authorities to extend the closure till 30 December.

Students from Class 9 onwards will continue attending school. Their school timing has been changed to reduce exposure to extreme cold. Classes will now run from 10:00 am to 3:30 pm. Board and pre-board exam preparations will continue as scheduled.

Parents have welcomed the move and called it a necessary step for children’s safety. Schools have been advised to follow further instructions if weather conditions worsen.

The weather department has predicted cold winds and dense fog in Bihar over the next few days. Citizens have been advised to take precautions and avoid early morning travel.
