Tarn Taran Police Seizure has exposed a major network involved in drug trafficking and illegal arms supply in Punjab. Police arrested six accused and recovered 2.046 kilograms of heroin, three pistols, two cars, and one motorcycle during coordinated operations.
The arrested men include Nasib Singh from Gandiwind, Surinder Kumar and Rahul Yadav from Hanumangarh, Gurlal Singh from village Sabhra, and Amritsar residents Rahul and Yuvraj Bir Singh.
SSP Surinder Lamba said police teams stopped an unregistered car during a checkpoint in the Sarai Amanat Khan area. Officers recovered 1.492 kilograms of heroin from Nasib Singh during the search.
In another operation near Sarhali, CIA staff intercepted an Alto car. Police recovered 504 grams of heroin from Surinder Kumar and his son Rahul Yadav.
Police also acted on intelligence about illegal weapons supply. Officers arrested Gurlal Singh and recovered two 9mm pistols with four live cartridges. He had already supplied four pistols to others. Police are tracing those links.
During checking in the Bhikhiwind area, CIA staff stopped a motorcycle. Officers recovered a Glock pistol with a magazine from Rahul and Yuvraj Bir Singh.
Police have taken all accused on remand. Further questioning is underway to identify wider networks.
