A triple marriage dowry case has come to light in Gopalganj district of Bihar, where police arrested a man accused of marrying three women within three years. The accused allegedly did not divorce his earlier wives before remarrying.
According to police, the case surfaced after the first and second wives filed complaints at the local police station. They accused the man of demanding dowry, harassing them, and hiding his previous marriages.
The women said their families gave cash, jewellery, and household items at the time of marriage. Despite this, they faced mental and physical abuse soon after.
Police said the accused also married a third woman by concealing his earlier marriages. The third wife reportedly had no knowledge about his past.
After a preliminary investigation, police arrested the man and sent him to judicial custody. Officers are now verifying marriage records and dowry allegations.
Officials stated that strict action will follow if all charges are proven. The case has raised concerns about marital fraud and dowry-related crimes in the region.
Police urged women to report such incidents without fear and assured strong legal support in the triple marriage dowry case.
