Two brothers killed father over property in Purnia after a heated argument over land turned brutal. The shocking incident took place in Pahad Toll Pakadiya village under Mirganj police station in Bihar’s Purnia district.

The victim, 65-year-old Vijay Hansda, was a retired BMP employee. Family members said he had frequent disputes with his sons regarding property division. On Thursday night, another argument broke out at home and quickly escalated.

During the fight, the younger son, Manaven Hansda, attacked his father with sticks and bricks. The assault caused serious injuries. The elder brother reportedly fled the spot during the violence.

Local villagers rushed to help after hearing screams and informed the police. Officers arrived at the scene and took the injured man to a hospital. Doctors later declared him dead.

Police arrested Manaven Hansda and began questioning him. The second accused remains absconding, and teams are searching for him. Officials said further action will follow after completing the investigation.

The incident has shocked the village and once again highlighted how property disputes are tearing families apart in Bihar.
