TTD faces crises, probes, and reforms throughout 2025
The year 2025 proved challenging for Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), marked by crises, multiple probes, and administrative reforms. Stampedes, political controversies, and several investigations kept TTD under intense public and media scrutiny throughout the year.
Despite the challenges, TTD implemented significant administrative and service reforms aimed at improving pilgrim experiences. Authorities introduced measures to streamline crowd management, enhance temple services, and strengthen governance.
Political controversy also hovered over TTD’s management, with opposition parties questioning certain administrative decisions and financial dealings. Concurrently, probe agencies conducted inquiries into temple operations, keeping the spotlight on transparency and accountability.
TTD officials said that while 2025 tested the organisation, it also offered an opportunity to improve systems and introduce reforms. They highlighted steps taken to ensure safety, better facilities, and more efficient management for pilgrims visiting Tirumala.
