KTR Alleges Congress Hindering Palamuru–Ranga Reddy Irrigation Project
Hyderabad: Telangana IT Minister K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) has accused the Congress government of deliberately delaying the Palamuru–Ranga Reddy lift irrigation project, describing it as an attempt to hinder the state’s development agenda. KTR claimed that despite repeated requests and approvals, the project has not progressed, affecting farmers who rely on timely irrigation for crop cultivation.
He highlighted that the project, aimed at providing water to drought-prone areas of Palamuru and ensuring agricultural sustainability, has faced unnecessary bureaucratic hurdles under the previous administration. KTR urged the state government and relevant authorities to expedite clearances and funding to ensure the project’s timely completion.
The minister stressed that stalling such initiatives not only impacts agriculture but also delays overall regional development and economic growth. He called for political consensus and active cooperation to prioritize public welfare over partisan interests, emphasizing the need for accountability and action in large-scale infrastructure projects.
