Public Works Department Office Sale in Bihar Ordered by Court Over Pending Dues

Public Works Department office sale in Bihar court order notice

Public Works Department office sale in Bihar has been ordered by a civil court in Kishanganj after the department failed to clear long-pending payment dues. The court took strict action following years of delay in paying a contractor for completed construction work.

The case relates to a building constructed for the Public Works Department nearly eight years ago. Contractor Mukesh Kumar Singh completed the project on time, but the department did not release the full payment despite repeated requests.

After no response from officials, the contractor approached the civil court. The court later passed an order directing the department to clear the dues along with interest. However, the order was not followed.

Due to continued non-compliance, the court directed the attachment and auction of the department’s office and related properties. Notices of attachment have already been displayed at public locations in Kishanganj.

The Public Works Department office sale in Bihar is scheduled for January 28, 2026. Legal experts say the move sends a strong message that government departments are not above the law.

The auction will help recover the contractor’s pending amount and interest, as directed by the court.
