Telangana to Launch ‘You Quote, We Pay’ Scheme to Tackle Medical Faculty Shortage

The Telangana government has announced the rollout of the ‘You Quote, We Pay’ scheme to tackle the acute shortage of faculty in government medical colleges across the State. The initiative is aimed at ensuring uninterrupted medical education and maintaining academic standards amid the rapid expansion of medical colleges.
Under the scheme, qualified doctors and specialists will be engaged on a contractual basis, with remuneration paid as per the fee quoted by the faculty member and approved by the government. This flexible payment model is expected to attract experienced professionals from both the public and private sectors to teach in government institutions.
Officials said the scheme would help fill vacant teaching posts quickly, especially in super-specialty and high-demand departments where regular recruitment has been delayed. The government believes the initiative will benefit medical students by improving faculty availability and training quality. The move reflects Telangana’s focus on strengthening healthcare education infrastructure while ensuring adequate staffing in its growing network of government medical colleges.
