Bihar Government employees will get 35 days leave in 2026 holiday calendar

Bihar Government employees will get 35 days leave in 2026, according to the new holiday calendar released by the state. Out of these, six days fall on Sundays, so employees will effectively get 29 extra leave days in addition to regular weekly offs.

The holiday list covers general, public, and optional leaves. General holidays include festivals such as Basant Panchami, Mahashivratri, Veer Kunwar Singh Jayanti, and Durga Puja. Public holidays under the NI Act include Republic Day, Independence Day, Diwali, and Christmas.

Employees also have 22 optional holidays in 2026. These can be used for personal or religious observances like New Year’s Day, Raksha Bandhan, Eid, and Christmas Eve. This allows flexibility for staff to celebrate according to their preference.

The government aims to balance workdays with festive breaks so employees can plan their year efficiently. With these 35 days of leave, Bihar Government employees will get 35 days leave in 2026 including national, cultural, and optional holidays.
