A Patna encounter took place late at night in the Khagaul area when police came face to face with notorious criminal Manager Rai. Acting on a tip-off, a special police team reached the area to arrest him. During the operation, Manager Rai tried to escape and opened fire on the police team. This led to a brief gunfight.
Police retaliated, and Manager Rai was shot in the leg. Officers immediately rushed him to AIIMS Patna for treatment. Doctors said his condition is stable, and police have placed him under strict security.
Manager Rai has a long criminal history. He is wanted in several serious cases, including murder, robbery, and extortion. Police said he had been absconding for a long time and was constantly changing locations to avoid arrest.
After the encounter, police recovered a firearm, live cartridges, and a motorcycle from the spot. No police personnel were injured during the clash.
