A.P. Government Allots 9.96 Acres in Nuzvid for Indian Institute of Packaging Management

The Andhra Pradesh government has allotted 9.96 acres of land in Nuzvid, Krishna district, for the establishment of the Indian Institute of Packaging Management (IIPM). The land will be leased for a period of 33 years on a free-of-cost basis, subject to several terms and conditions. The decision aims to strengthen skill development and support the packaging sector, which plays a key role in agriculture, food processing, pharmaceuticals, and manufacturing.
According to officials, the institute is expected to function as a centre of excellence, offering training, research, and consultancy services in modern packaging technologies. The allotment conditions include mandatory utilisation of the land solely for the proposed institute, adherence to the project timeline, and compliance with government norms. The lease can be cancelled if the land is misused or if the project fails to take off within the stipulated period.
The government said the initiative would generate employment opportunities and enhance industrial capabilities in the region, particularly benefiting local youth and entrepreneurs.
