Jana Sena Party Seeks Special Summary Revision of Voter Lists in Andhra Pradesh
The Jana Sena Party (JSP) has formally requested the Election Commission of India (ECI) to initiate a Special Summary Revision (SSR) of electoral rolls in Andhra Pradesh. Party leaders expressed confidence that the exercise would make the voter lists more comprehensive, inclusive, and free from errors ahead of upcoming elections.
The JSP highlighted instances of discrepancies in the current electoral rolls, including missing names, duplicate entries, and incorrect details. They argued that a thorough revision would strengthen the democratic process by ensuring that every eligible citizen is able to exercise their right to vote without hindrance.
According to the party, the Special Summary Revision would also help in updating information for young voters who have recently attained voting age, as well as for citizens who have changed their residence or personal details.
The Jana Sena Party urged the ECI to conduct the SSR promptly, ensuring transparency, accuracy, and wide public awareness so that electoral participation is maximized across the State.
