Kavitha Urges KCR to Address Water Project Criticism, Announces New Political Party
Telangana Jagruthi president K. Kavitha has hit out at critics of former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), saying he should come to the Assembly to dispel propaganda about irrigation and river-water projects. Kavitha strongly objected to claims questioning the handling of river waters and argued that a full Assembly debate would allow him to counter criticisms directly rather than through media battles.
Kavitha also announced plans to launch a new regional political party under the Telangana Jagruthi banner and contest the next Assembly elections. She emphasized that the party will focus on “Social Telangana,” aiming to empower youth and women. The party’s name will be finalized with public input as preparations are made for the polls, expected by 2028–29. She positioned this initiative as an alternative to existing political options, highlighting a commitment to addressing local issues and strengthening governance in the state.
