Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh is set to host the annual Rahgiri Aanandotsav starting Sunday, 11 January 2026. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will inaugurate the festival during the first Rahgiri. The administration has already started preparations to ensure smooth arrangements.
The festival will begin at 7 AM on Kothi Road, stretching from Taran Tal to Kothi Palace, a distance of nearly one kilometer. As in previous years, CM Yadav will officially open the event. Various performers will entertain attendees with songs, dances, traditional folk art, Malakhamb, and stick performances. This year, the spotlight will be on folk artists showcasing regional cultural talents.
Collector Roshan Kumar Singh held a review meeting with all concerned departments to monitor arrangements and give necessary instructions. Participants of all ages, from children to elders, are expected to join the festivities. Visitors will also enjoy a variety of local snacks and delicacies offered along the route.
Rahgiri Aanandotsav was first organized in 2014 under the guidance of Swami Muskurake and then-Collector Kavindra Kiyawat. Designed to encourage a healthy lifestyle, the weekly festival now also takes place in the Piplee Naka area. Rhythm Group’s Kapil Yadein and CM Mohan Yadav’s son Vaibhav Yadav manage this year’s celebrations. The festival will continue across four consecutive Sundays, promoting culture, fitness, and community spirit.
