Hyderabad/Peddapalli: Telangana archer Chikitha Taniparthi brought global glory by winning the gold medal at the World Youth Archery Championship in Canada. Representing India in the Under-21 final, she defeated Korea’s Park Yerin to emerge as world champion. Her achievement has placed Sultanpur village of Peddapalli district on the world sports map.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy congratulated Chikitha, calling her victory a proud moment for both India and Telangana. In a statement from the CMO, he praised her confidence, focus, and determination. He said her success will inspire youth across the state and the nation. The Chief Minister also lauded her parents for identifying her talent early and encouraging her to excel in archery.
Revanth expressed hope that Chikitha will win more medals in the future and continue to bring honor to the state. He highlighted her journey from a rural background to the international stage as an inspiring story for young athletes.
MLC K. Kavitha, president of Telangana Jagruthi, also extended her wishes. She said Chikitha’s gold medal has raised India’s prestige on the global sports platform and showcased Telangana’s sporting talent. She described Chikitha as a role model for young girls aspiring to shine in sports.
