Three Villages Evacuated as ONGC Experts Join Well-Capping Operations in Konaseema

Residents of three villages in Konaseema were evacuated on Monday as a precautionary measure following a gas leak incident at an ONGC well. Authorities said the evacuation was carried out to ensure the safety of people living in nearby areas while efforts to cap the leaking well continue. Temporary shelters and essential facilities were arranged for the displaced villagers.
ONGC officials confirmed that safety experts from within the company, including experienced Indian well-control specialists, have joined the operation to cap the well and bring the situation under control. Cooling operations are ongoing to prevent any escalation, and a safety perimeter has been established around the affected site.

District administration and emergency services are closely monitoring the situation, coordinating with ONGC teams to manage risks and maintain public safety. Officials assured that all necessary precautions are being taken and that residents would be allowed to return once the area is declared safe.
