Telangana Launches Mobile App to Ensure Timely Fertiliser Supply: Agriculture Minister
Telangana Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao on Monday said the State government has deployed a mobile application to ensure the timely supply of fertilisers to farmers. Speaking in Hyderabad, he stated that the digital initiative would help monitor fertiliser availability, streamline distribution, and prevent shortages during peak agricultural seasons.
The Minister explained that the urea shortage faced by farmers during the last kharif season was mainly due to delayed supply and the temporary shutdown of Ramagundam Fertilisers and Chemicals Limited (RFCL) during a crucial period. He said the new mobile app would provide real-time data on fertiliser stocks at mandal and district levels, enabling quicker intervention by officials.
Rao emphasised that the government is committed to supporting farmers by strengthening supply chains and adopting technology-driven solutions. He added that the app would improve transparency, reduce black marketing, and ensure equitable distribution of fertilisers, helping farmers plan their crop cycles more effectively and avoid disruptions in agricultural operations.
