Punjabi death rumour exposed after singer Geeta Zaildar tracked down a youth spreading fake news about artists’ deaths. The accused had circulated false reports claiming the deaths of several Punjabi singers and Bollywood actors. These included Miss Pooja, Babbu Maan, Diljit Dosanjh, Satinder Sartaaj, Harjit Harman, Gurpreet Ghuggi, Ammy Virk, and actor Sanjay Dutt.
According to Geeta Zaildar, the rumours were shared through a Facebook account named Preet Dhillon. Zaildar posted a video on social media showing his interaction with the accused. He said the youth had already spread fake death news about at least 10 to 11 celebrities.
In the video, Zaildar said such people chase views and money by posting shocking lies. He warned that fake death news creates panic and emotional trauma. Families, children, and fans suffer severe mental stress. He added that such rumours can even put lives at risk.
After identifying the accused, Zaildar ensured the social media page was reported and taken down. The incident drew wide attention across Punjab’s music industry.
Recently, the same person spread a false rumour about Miss Pooja’s death. The singer strongly denied it on Instagram. She mocked the claim using a famous Bollywood dialogue, saying she was very much alive.
Artists have now urged fans to verify news and report fake content.
