Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Thursday urged the Jathedar of Akal Takht Sahib, Giani Kuldeep Singh Gadgaj, to allow a live telecast of his deposition on January 15. Mann said the move would ensure transparency and let the public hear his stand directly. In a post on social media, the Chief Minister said he has received calls from people worldwide. They want to know when he will present evidence related to the alleged misuse of golak. Mann stressed that a live telecast would help clear doubts and prevent misinformation.
Mann said he plans to depose before the Jathedar with full proof. He added that the Sikh sangat deserves complete clarity on the matter. According to him, open proceedings will strengthen trust in religious institutions.
The Chief Minister reiterated that he has no intention to politicise the issue. He said he only wants his version to reach people without distortion. Mann again urged that all news channels should broadcast the proceedings live on January 15.
