Trump Invites India Board of Peace Plan for Gaza Talks

Trump

US President Donald Trump has invited India to join his proposed “Board of Peace” initiative. The plan aims to resolve global conflicts, starting with Gaza. Trump sent a formal letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor shared the invitation on social media.

Trump described the effort as historic. He said the board would promote peace, stability, and prosperity in Gaza. The Indian government has not issued an official response. The invitation comes during strained trade talks. India currently faces a 50 percent tariff on some exports to the US.

Trump linked the board to his Gaza ceasefire roadmap and a broader Middle East peace plan. The UN Security Council endorsed the Gaza mandate in November 2025. The board would operate through 2027 and focus only on Gaza. Trump proposed future expansion beyond the enclave.

The White House said the board would rebuild Gaza and direct most funds to reconstruction. Member states would serve three-year terms. Countries could gain permanent seats by contributing $1 billion.

Trump invited about 60 nations, including Pakistan. Several diplomats raised concerns. They warned the initiative could weaken the United Nations. China and Russia may oppose any expansion beyond Gaza.
