Chilly Weather Grips Punjab and Haryana; Kashmir and Rajasthan See Slight Respite
Chilly weather conditions continue to grip several parts of Punjab and Haryana, with residents experiencing cold winds and low night temperatures. The northern plains are witnessing below-normal temperatures, prompting authorities to advise citizens, particularly the elderly and children, to take precautions against the cold.
Meanwhile, the Kashmir valley is experiencing a slight respite, though it remains in the midst of ‘Chilla-i-Kalan’, the 40-day period of extreme winter when night temperatures often fall well below freezing. During this period, the chances of snowfall are at their highest, and residents continue to face harsh winter conditions despite occasional mild spells.
Rajasthan, too, reported a marginal rise in temperatures, providing some relief from the deep cold that has prevailed over recent weeks. Meteorologists have predicted that chilly conditions are likely to persist in the northern and northwestern regions, with scattered frost and cold waves expected in Punjab, Haryana, and western Uttar Pradesh over the coming days.
