A Begusarai murder shocked a village in Bihar late Sunday night when a man was shot dead inside his home while his wife slept beside him unaware. The incident took place in the Lakhminia Sonar Tola area under Balia police station limits.
The victim was identified as 58-year-old farmer Krishnandan Yadav. He was sleeping in his house with his wife around 11:30 pm when an unknown person entered the home. The attacker shot Yadav at close range and escaped from the spot.
The gunshot sound was very low, so his wife did not wake up immediately and remained unaware of the crime. After some time, she noticed her husband lying motionless and raised an alarm.
Neighbours rushed to the house and took Yadav to Sadar Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. The news spread quickly and caused panic in the area.
Police reached the spot and began an investigation. Officers found a cartridge case and motorcycle tyre marks near the house. They suspect the attacker may have used a silencer. Police are questioning villagers and searching for clues to identify the accused.
