A Special Investigation Team (SIT) found the deleted messages and is checking several linked phone numbers. Officers also seized a personal diary from the student’s room. It contains notes that may reveal her thoughts and plans. Police are questioning the hostel operator, warden, and doctors to gather more information.
CCTV footage shows the student left her hostel room twice one afternoon and returned each time. The next morning, she did not come for breakfast. A guard and staff broke the door and found her unconscious. She was taken to hospital but later died.
Police have detained three close aides of the hostel operator for questioning. They are also reviewing CCTV outside the hostel to identify any suspicious visitors.
The case has sparked local protests. Residents demand justice and a transparent investigation.
