APSRTC Vizag region records highest earnings during Sankranti rush
The APSRTC Vizag region earned a record income of ₹1.90 crore on January 19 due to the heavy return rush after the Sankranti festival. Many people were traveling back to their workplaces and colleges after celebrating the festival with their families, leading to very high passenger demand.
To manage the rush, APSRTC operated a large number of special buses in addition to regular services. Extra buses were run to major cities and towns such as Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Tirupati, and other important destinations. Officials said advance planning and proper scheduling helped in handling the crowd smoothly.
APSRTC staff, including drivers, conductors, and depot officials, worked continuously to ensure safe and comfortable travel for passengers. Temporary booking counters and special arrangements were also made at bus stations.
Officials said the record earnings reflect the trust of passengers in APSRTC services. They appreciated the efforts of employees and said similar steps would be taken during future festivals and peak travel seasons.
