YSRCP leader Ambati Rambabu was arrested in Guntur after he criticised Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu over the Tirupati laddu issue. The police said Rambabu was “creating hurdles” during their investigation and did not cooperate with authorities.
Following his arrest, Rambabu’s wife filed a house motion petition in the High Court. She claimed that her husband was being illegally detained and that the police failed to provide him proper protection while in custody. She urged the court to take action and ensure his safety.
The incident has sparked political tension in the state. YSRCP leaders condemned the arrest, calling it an attempt to suppress criticism, while supporters of the ruling party defended the police action as necessary for maintaining law and order.
The Tirupati laddu row has been a sensitive issue in Andhra Pradesh politics, and Rambabu’s arrest has added to the ongoing controversy between the two main parties in the state.
