Opposition parties have criticised the Union Budget 2026, calling it anti-people and without a clear vision. Left parties and the Trinamool Congress said the Budget ignores the problems faced by ordinary citizens. They accused the Centre of focusing more on big companies than on workers, farmers, and the poor.

The Opposition said the Budget does not address rising unemployment, price rise, and falling incomes. They also claimed there is very little support for farmers, small businesses, and people working in the informal sector. According to them, schemes for social welfare and job creation have not received enough funds.

The Trinamool Congress said the Budget weakens federalism by reducing the share of funds for States. Left parties added that public spending on health, education, and food security is not enough during a time of economic distress.

Overall, Opposition leaders said the Budget helps corporates while ignoring the real needs of the people.
