A YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) delegation led by district president K.K. Raju met the District Collector on Wednesday and demanded clarity on the transfer of 54 acres of land to GITAM University. The delegation included constituency coordinators, Members of the Legislative Council, former MLAs, and corporators.
The YSRCP leaders raised concerns over the allotment of the land and asked the district administration to clearly explain the reasons and procedures followed in the transfer. They said the land is valuable public property and stressed that transparency is essential in such decisions. The leaders demanded that all related documents and approvals be made public.
They also stated that any land transfer should serve public interest and follow government rules. The delegation warned that the issue would be taken up at higher levels if proper clarification was not given. The District Collector heard their representations and assured them that the matter would be examined and necessary information would be shared after reviewing the records.
