A.P. High Court Postpones Hearing on Ambati Rambabu’s Petition
The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Wednesday adjourned the hearing of Ambati Rambabu’s lunch motion petition to February 11. The petition seeks to quash the cases registered against him for allegedly making abusive comments about the Chief Minister.
Ambati Rambabu filed the petition stating that the cases were politically motivated and should be dismissed. His legal team argued that he has the right to express his views without facing criminal charges, as long as they do not incite violence or disturb public order.
The High Court Bench, after hearing the arguments, decided to give more time before taking a decision. The court asked both the petitioner and the government to submit necessary documents and responses by the next hearing date.
Supporters of Ambati Rambabu attended the court proceedings, saying that the cases were filed unfairly. The adjournment gives both sides time to prepare their arguments, and the next hearing is scheduled for February 11.
