Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu went to New Delhi to meet Union ministers and ask for strong central support for the state’s irrigation and infrastructure projects. He focused on getting approval and money for major schemes that will help farmers and improve water supply. One big request was nearly ₹32,000 crore for Polavaram Phase-II, which includes land, rehabilitation and safety works. He also asked for support to link surplus water from the Godavari to dry areas.

Naidu raised concern over Karnataka’s plan to increase the height of the Almatti dam, saying it could reduce the water that flows to Andhra Pradesh.

He also proposed starting a Makhana Development Board to support makhana farming around the Kolleru region and asked the Centre to help resolve river water disputes with other states.
