YSR Congress Party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has accused the Andhra Pradesh government, led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, of inflating the State’s GSDP (Gross State Domestic Product) figures. He said the NDA government is showing higher growth numbers to hide an economic slowdown.
Jagan claimed that tax revenue growth in the State is weak and does not match the government’s claims of double-digit economic growth. He referred to figures from the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) to question the accuracy of the data released by the government. According to him, if the economy was really growing strongly, tax collections would also increase at a similar pace.
He said the government is trying to mislead people with false statistics instead of focusing on real development. Jagan demanded that the government explain the difference between the official growth figures and the financial data. He urged the government to present transparent and truthful economic information to the public.
