A political tug of war has started between the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) and the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) over claiming credit for development projects in Andhra Pradesh. Both parties say they are responsible for starting and completing important projects in the State.
The YSRCP leaders claim that many welfare and infrastructure projects were planned and initiated during their government. They say the present TDP government is taking credit for work that was already in progress.
On the other hand, TDP leaders argue that several projects were delayed under the YSRCP rule and are now moving forward because of their efforts. They say their government is speeding up development and bringing new investments.
This competition over credit has led to strong political arguments between the two parties. Political observers say such disputes are common when governments change, as each party wants public support by highlighting its role in development activities.
