Union Minister Kiren Rijiju strongly criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, saying that his recent speech in Parliament was “full of lies.” Rijiju said the government would demand that the remarks made by Rahul Gandhi be expunged from the official records of the House.
He stated, “We will demand expunging of whatever lies Rahul Gandhi has spoken,” and accused the Congress leader of misleading the public with incorrect information. Rijiju said such statements should not be part of parliamentary proceedings.
The remarks have added to the ongoing political tensions between the BJP and Congress. Rahul Gandhi had reportedly raised issues and criticisms against the government during his speech, which the ruling party strongly objected to.
Parliament rules allow certain remarks to be removed from official records if they are found to be inappropriate or untrue. The matter is now likely to be taken up by the Speaker for consideration.
